On the 4th of June 2014 about 11.00am the Ubinas volcano in the southern part of Peru erupted. I was then travelling from Colce Canyon to Puno. It was far away from our place, I guess about 50-70 kilometers. On this photo the cumulus might have been already several kilometers high. A few minutes later the strong wind unravelled the cumulus, and destroyed this beautiful form. When we arrived in Puno, hours later, only the smell of sulpher was left.
