Title: Sequoia Tree Crowns

In Liliental near Ihringen in the Kaiserstuhl (Baden, southern Germany) lies an arboretum, which also has a complete Sequoia forest. This is the variant Sequoia Dendron Giganteum, original from California, USA, where they can get up to 100m and over 2000 year of age. These trees can be found in the region on many spots, because in the late 19th century they were very sought after as exotic trees. The trees in Ihringen are planted about 50 years ago, and many trees reach at the moment at about 50m height. This picture was taken right up from below to show the silvery lining of the crowns in the sunshine. This photo was taken in autumn, so the sun does not shine in directly.
