This is one of the most beautiful pictures of a golden statue and the golden decoration behind. In reality the decoration is about 3 meters high. Behind the figures you can see a Tibetan library and how the books lie on top of each other packed in a cloth.
The golden treasures are immens, and although during the Cultural Revolution much has been destroyed, there are monasteries that have been able to preserve their treasures. Sakya is one of them. It is situated about 150km north of Lhasa.
