Title: Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu, Old Man’s Hill in Quechua, is situated NW of Cusco, and is one of the wonders of Peru. For tourists it is a must to visit Macchu Picchu. The itinery is by train from Cusco to Machu Picchu, (formerly Aqua Calientes) and from there by bus up to the site. This foto was made in 2008, when it was still not very crowdy.  The site is beautiful and a visit can be augmented by climbing Wayna Picchu, the mountain behind, or going around it to the Temple of the Moon and the Gran Caverna. The site was not known to exist tell 1911 when Hiram Bingham discovered the site again, and excavation and removal of the debris of centuries started.
