In the autumn of 2018 I visited Fort William and vicinity in western Scotland. Eilean Donan Castle lies in open water. This is the first view of in from the parking place. The castle was build in the 13th century and destroyed in the 18th century. It was rebuild in the first decades of the 20th century. The bridge from the mainland to the castle of course is not original. At night the castle is illuminated in a strange red light.
