Title: Devils Tower, Wyoming, USA

During a round trip in the USA in 2005, I also visited Devils Tower, a weird name for the monolith of lava, about 400 meters high, and sacred to the indian tribes that lived here. In the indian languages the name of a bear often appears. The legend is that 7 girls, dancing, were so irresistable for a bear that he chased them. Taking flight the girls arrived at a rock and prayed to rescue them. The rock grew and the bear, trying to catch the girls left the marks of its clows in the rock. Devils Tower is a landmark in the landscape, and can be seen from afar.
