The Castle of Haut Koenigsbourg is situated on a promontory at the eastern hills of the Alsace. It was taken as the example for the castle of Minas Tirith in the movies of the Lord of the Rings. The form is quite long and small and from the front you have a grandiose view over the Rhine valley. The castle is worth the visit.
