STORY: Around Ausangate

11 of 31 : Deep Down

After the Ausangate pass you go steep down to Ausangate lake. Here with sunshine it will be quite warm. Here the surface is flat. But in rain and snowstorm it is not so pretty
On this day there is only walking and talking with the paqos with the help of a translator about what is of interest for them.
From here the path goes up for a very long, but not so steep climb that at about 5000m is becoming very tiring. In the end for us westerers, even when properly trained, it is very hard. Walking some minutes and then stop to get breath.
But at the pass of over 5000m there is exciting feeling that you have made it.
