Formerly the trek was 2 or 3 days, Nowadays it can be done in about 6-8 hours, due to new roads that have been build in the last 10 years. This is a picture of the road that leaves the Inter Oceanic Sur Highway just after Mahuayani and goes into the mountains and later on dives into the jungle. There is a section with many hairpins. The lama is a pure gift to the picture.
